This White Tara thangka is truly special – His Holiness Dalai Lama has signed this silk Thangka of Goddess White Tara!

It comes with his blessing and is a rare sacred gem that I offer for your benefit and enjoyment.

White Tara is used in personal practice but also as a longevity and healing blessing.

This particular thangka has taken 3 months full time to complete.

Silk applique thangka is a highly renowned form of Tibetan Buddhist art.

Monasteries, practitioners and individuals buy this style of thangka for the beauty, quality and deep meaning of the art form. Traditionally silk thangkas are held in high esteem due to the time consuming nature of hand stitching and embroidery, they are versatile and not subject to deterioration such as occurs with the painting thangkas. They travel well and look stunning in any setting. This is the result of Urgyen Sonam’s skill, patience, concentration and dedication and is an exquisite hand stitched work of sacred art.

About White Tara:

White Tara, the Mother of all the Buddhas, bestows the gift of longevity and is an elegant emanation. She energizes those who visualize her, and that energy can be invested in one’s spiritual practice. She is still and center sitting in a full lotus, belonging to the Lotus Family of Amitabha. She has seven eyes: one each on the soles of her feet; one each on the palms of her hands; one each in the normal place on her face and one in the “third eye” position on her forehead. Several important White Tara practices have been passed down through the Karmapas and Dalai Lamas.
